How to select your coach; So you’re ready to start selecting a private coach, there are many coaches available and the task can be daunting, below are a few pointers to help you with the task. Seattle Skating Club has some of the most qualified and experienced coaches in the Pacific Northwest. All of the coaches are certified through the P.S.A (Professional Skaters Association) they excel in different areas and disciplines. So choosing the correct coach to fit your needs is important. When looking to select a coach, whether it is with one of our coaches or a coach at another ice rink, you should be asking the following questions: What is the coaches coaching philosophy, does it fit your goals and expectations.
Is the person certified as a coach through P.S.A. We insist all our coaches have more than just have the basic written test.
What is the coaches own skating standard, this will determine their knowledge base and individual skill level.
How many years have they been coaching. What disciplines are they most qualified in. How much are their fees.
